Cloth & Steele is an independent Austin boutique created for women who still want to have fun with fashion—without sorting through hundreds of options, spending designer-level prices, or wondering whether something will actually work on their body.

We curate a smaller, ever-changing mix of clothing and accessories that feels current, interesting and wearable. You'll find distinctive pieces you won't see everywhere alongside the everyday pieces that make your wardrobe work.

And we're particular about what makes it onto our racks. Great style shouldn't require designer-level prices, and a higher price tag doesn't automatically mean better quality. We look for pieces that deliver on fit, quality, style and value—and we stand behind what we sell.

Finding something you love is only half the equation. It also has to work on you.

That's why fit education has become such an important part of Cloth & Steele. We pay attention to the details most people don't think about until something doesn't fit right—proportion, rise, stretch, recovery, fabrication and how a garment actually sits on the body.

Denim is one category we're especially passionate about. Instead of giving you a wall of jeans and leaving you to figure it out, we want to help you understand why one pair works and another doesn't.

Hi, I'm Crystal.
After nearly three decades in retail, I knew I wanted to create a different kind of shopping experience.
​
I had spent years leading large teams and multi-million-dollar businesses, but Cloth & Steele gave me the opportunity to take everything I'd learned about retail and make it personal.
​
And the more time I've spent working directly with women in the fitting room, the more convinced I've become that great retail isn't about selling someone the most clothes.
​
It's about listening.
​
It's telling you when something isn't quite right and bringing you something better. It's understanding why a pair of jeans isn't working instead of simply grabbing another size. It's remembering what you loved the last time you were here. And it's helping you leave with something you're genuinely excited to wear.
That's the kind of store I'm building.
